Peer Review Policy

Journal for the Agriculture, Biotechnology and Education (JABEdu) maintains a rigorous, fair, and transparent peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and scientific integrity of all published articles. All submissions are subject to editorial screening and double-blind peer review prior to publication.

The editorial team is committed to maintaining high ethical standards in accordance with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and to ensuring an efficient and respectful review process for authors and reviewers.

Editorial Pre-Review

After submission, each manuscript undergoes editorial pre-review within approximately 14 days. During this stage, the Editor-in-Chief and section editors evaluate:
• Compliance with the journal’s aims and scope
• Similarity report (plagiarism threshold below 15%)
• Ethical approval and author declarations
• Language clarity and structure

Manuscripts passing the pre-review are forwarded to external reviewers. Those not meeting basic quality, scope, or ethics requirements are returned to authors with an explanatory note.

Peer Review Process

The peer review process is double-blind, ensuring that both reviewers and authors remain anonymous. Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent experts (not members of the editorial board), selected for their academic expertise in the relevant field. Additional reviewers may be invited when needed to ensure comprehensive evaluation.

The standard peer review period is up to 60 days (approximately 8 weeks) from reviewer invitation to final decision. Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on scientific rigor, originality, relevance, and contribution to the field.

Authors are expected to submit revisions promptly, within the time frame specified by the editor. Failure to respond or unethical conduct (such as attempting to alter authorship during review) may result in rejection and temporary submission suspension.

Editorial Decision and Publication

The editorial decision (acceptance, revision, or rejection) is made based on the reviewers’ reports and the assessment of the Editors-in-Chief or Managing Editors.
Once accepted, the article enters the production and publication preparation stage, which is typically completed within 6 months (24 weeks) after acceptance.

All communications between authors, reviewers, and editors are conducted exclusively through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform, ensuring accountability and transparency.

Ethical and Confidentiality Principles

• Reviewers and authors must declare any potential conflicts of interest.
• Reviewers are required to delete identifying metadata or “track changes” from files to preserve anonymity.
• The peer review process is confidential, and all manuscripts and related materials are securely stored, accessible only to authorized editorial staff.
• Reviewers who complete their assignments are encouraged to record their work through the Clarivate Publons platform.
• The editor may request plagiarism checks at any stage of the review.

Continuous Policy Improvement

These procedures are implemented under the supervision of the JABEdu Editorial Board. The journal regularly reviews and updates its peer review policy to ensure full alignment with COPE guidelines, Scopus CSAB standards, and the best practices of international scholarly publishing.
