The LOCKSS Program, based at Stanford Libraries, provides services and open-source technologies for highly reliable, flexible, and secure digital preservation. The LOCKSS technology was initially developed and used by Stanford Libraries and industry collaborators for the distributed preservation of electronic scholarly publications. Over the past twenty years, the applications of LOCKSS networks have expanded to include a growing community of organizations that require reliable mechanisms for preserving all types of digital content, ensuring long-term digital integrity and access.
