A needs assessment to develop teachers professional additional competency of agricultural training teacher students

This study aimed to explore needs for developing additional competency of agricultural training teacher students at Surindra Rajabhat University. The sample group in this study consisted of 65 practicum teaching students majoring in Agriculture, Faculty of Agriculture and Agro-Industry at Surindra Rajabhat University (First semester, academic year 2017). A set of questionnaires (IOC = 0.87) was used for date collection and analyzed by using frequency, percentage, mean, standard-deviation, and f-test. Results of the study were as follow: 1. Most of the respondents were female (56.92%), 21-33 years old, and their grade point average range was 2.51-3.00. More than one-half of the respondents (61.54%) taught elementary school level and most of them (80.00%) taught. Occupation and Technology (Agriculture) and they had another task-service affair. Most of the respondents (78.46%) taught at a small school and they used their own computer as a teaching media (92.31%), and 2. The respondents had a highest level of needs for developing additional competency of agricultural (training ( = 4.53). Based on its details, they needed for developing the competency in problem-solving most ( = 4.53). This was followed by life skills and technology using ( = 4.8) and critical thinking ( = 4.46). Results of the study showed that there were no statistically significant difference between grade point average/level of class teaching and needs for developing the additional competency.
