Journal for the Agriculture, Biotechnology and Education (JABEdu) is committed to protecting the privacy and personal data of all authors, reviewers, and readers. This privacy statement describes how the journal collects, uses, and safeguards personal information in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR – EU 2016/679) and applicable national data protection laws.

JABEdu acts as the data controller for all information submitted through its online platform and related services.

Data Collection

Personal data collected through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform include:
• Name and surname
• Institutional affiliation
• Email address
• ORCID ID (if provided)
• Country and academic position

These data are collected only for legitimate academic and operational purposes related to manuscript submission, review, and publication.

Purpose of Data Use

Collected personal data are used solely for the following purposes:
• Managing article submissions, peer review, and publication processes
• Maintaining communication with authors and reviewers
• Providing open-access publication and citation information
• Improving visibility and academic recognition of authors and their work

Personal data will never be sold, shared, or transferred to third parties for commercial or unrelated purposes.

Data Retention and Security

JABEdu retains personal data for as long as necessary to complete editorial and publication activities, and as required by legal or institutional obligations.
All data are stored securely on servers managed by the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform. Access to user accounts is password-protected and restricted to the account holder.

The editorial team and technical staff have no direct access to users’ personal login credentials. Authors may update or delete their information within their OJS profile at any time, or request assistance from the journal’s technical support.

JABEdu and its publisher take all appropriate technical and organizational measures to prevent unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction of personal data.

Data Sharing

JABEdu does not share personal data with any external organizations, except when legally required or with the explicit consent of the individual concerned (for example, in cases of research misconduct investigation by institutions).

Copyright and Agreements

During the submission process, authors are requested to complete the Copyright and License Agreement Form, signed by all authors, confirming their ownership of the work and consent to publish under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license.

Policy Updates

This privacy statement may be revised periodically to comply with updated legal requirements or improvements to our data protection practices. The latest version will always be available on the journal’s website.
